Cradle Mountain Tasmania is llocated just over an hour from Devonport, Tasmania. Cradle Mountain is just 1535 metres high and can be sumitted by the average walker in around 6 hours return. Please note this is in fine weather and that the Cradle Mountain weather can change from Sunshine, to Rain and wind then to sleet and snow in an hour. Always take wind proof and waterproof clothing as well as a map, compass, torch and adequate food and water. At Cradle Mountain there are numerous walking huts, a wide range of day and overnight walks through the mountains, a road to the edges of Dove Lake which lies in the shadow of Cradle Mountain, and plenty of excellent accommodation.
